My ISC prologue!

Hey all! Yes, that be my character. Looks nothing like me though. I think it looks neat. Thanks Anna for finding it! Anyway, this is my ISC prologue. I shall post it as I do it. Hopefully I'll find time to do that regularly. :) And as I would say, "So let it begin..."

                            **~~~~~~~~~~~~~**

                                   ~~~1 girl.~~~
                                  ~~~1 other.~~~
                                  ~~~1 sister.~~~
                          ~~~1 thing in common.~~~
The one thing that would change Misty's life... forever.

Christina said, “I know! If you give me the bird, I'll let you go”
Then Hanna replied, rather disgusted I might add, “Let us go?! Hah, you're more delusional than I thought. You and what army?"
“You even thought for a moment that I would just give you Talon?!?” I cried, “The nerve of some people! And what Hanna said! You and what army?!”
“Oooooh cool name for my new bird. What's the name again? Bacon? Turkey?” Christiana asked while taking a step towards Talon. And ya know, you don’t just go try taking my bird. I mean, I was getting pretty aggravated with this person!
“You take one step toward him and…” I whipped out my bow and arrow at lightning speed and aimed it at Christina. Now I was really mad! “I don't think you want to be stepping towards him... do you?”

You know, maybe I should back up a little. A little, maybe a lot! A lot’s happened in my life lately. I guess I should tell you my name huh? Ok, well I’m Misty McCluney. I live in Thorae. Wait, that’s right, you probably don’t know what that is. Basically Thorae is another world, pretty much Earth backwards. Well, anyway, I live there with my pet falcon, Talon. I used to live on Earth, Minnesota to be exact, but I moved here because of my other.
What are others you ask? Well pretty much you but opposite. They can be evil or good. My other, Eve L., is evil. (I call her Eve for short) And when I say evil I mean evil! She, well I’m pretty positive she did, killed my sister, Enya. Enya was the greatest person I knew. After that I went into shock for a while and then finally came out of it. I decided that I had to do something, so I grabbed Eve and came to Thorae. I keep her here so that I can keep an eye on her. I don’t want Eve hurting anyone else.
After Eve did what she did I decided that I needed to do something about all the evil others (EOs for short). So I rented an office at HQ and made that my HQ. I keep all my papers there and also a computer that can tell me when someone needs help with their EOs. That’s where I found out about Hanna and DJ.
I guess I should explain about that as well. I was helping some people in Antarctica with their others. When I was done there I headed back to Thorae, and went back home. “Hey Talon, how are you doing?” Talon ruffled his feathers and hopped on my arm. “Yeah things went pretty smoothly this time, which is a relief! I was getting pretty tired off the hard ones,” If only I had known what was about to happen. “I’ll be right back” I went and grabbed the phone.
“Sarah?... Yeah this is Misty… Yup, things went extremely well. I was wondering, do I have any messages on the computer?... I do? Great… Ok, I’ll be down later.” I hung up and turned to Talon who was looking at me kind of funny. “I really will go down there later. I just want to rest right now.” I told him.
So I went to my bedroom and took a nap. A little while later I woke up and went into the kitchen. “Sarah! What are you doing here?” I asked. I had to admit, I was a bit surprised.

“I came because I had to get you.” She replied, “That message I told you about, it looks really important. I think you should come look.” She sounded pretty worried. I was starting to wonder what this was all about.
“Alright then. I’m coming. Let me grab some stuff though.” After I convinced her I would come, she left. I went and grabbed my bag and got some stuff. Food, water and my first aid kit amongst some other stuff. I told Talon I’d be back later and left.

Once I got to HQ, I signed in at the front desk and went to my office. Sarah had gone ahead and opened the message for me. I looked and was shocked. “What in the world is going on?!” I asked myself. “This is crazy! I’ve seen EOs, but never as bad as this! This is like… Eve bad! Wow, this is serious.” I kept looking at the screen and saw weird things. Like one of the evil ones was now helping the two she was trying to defeat! And then they pushed some button and had to find one friend. At last they found the mirror he was in and ran out of the building, well the girl and the mirror did. The other stayed inside to find the bad one.
“Great! Should I go now or not? I mean they defeated the other! Wait!” I shouted. I saw something amazing, right before the castle blew up the boy that stayed inside had the other over his shoulder and ran outside. The girl and guy talked and then he passed out. “Ok, I can’t stand it any longer! They are trapped on Everest and might have no chance of survival!” I thought about it for a minute and then had an idea. “I do have a cabin, yes! I’ll take them there.” So I ran to Sarah and told her what I was doing then left. I went to the portal and jumped to Mt. Everest.

“Yeah, we should get out of here and find a place to recuperate and think things through... DJ?” The girl was leaning over her friend, but I could tell he had passed out, so I told her.

“Seems to me your friend is passed out. Probably will be for a while. I'm Misty. And you are?” Ok, so maybe I can’t word things the best, but when I’ve just jumped through a portal sometimes my mind gets joggled!

That's what I have so far. Please comment!

((NEVV!!))

(This happens a few years before my other prologue)

I glanced around the dark room, wondering, “Where am I” I tried to get up, but my bonds kept me down. I could slightly see another person on the other side of the room. “Keith,” I gasped. I strained trying to see if he was ok, but he was tied to a chair, head hanging forward. I tried to get free, but of course they had taken my weapons, and the knots were too tight. “For now, I shall get some rest. I know I’ll need it,” I thought to myself, “At least I now know where Keith is…” with those thoughts I fell asleep. I was most likely nodding on and off for 2 hours. All of a sudden there was a bright light that stung my eyes. I squinted to see a man, about 5’11”, medium build, walking towards me, with another man who took Keith out of the room and closed the door.

“Misty, so glad you could join us”

“I’m glad one of us thinks so.”

He didn’t look angry, or smile. He had no expression on his face. He just merely replied, “Aren’t you glad you finally found your friend? I’ve been watching you, Misty. There were numerous times when I could have gotten you, but I wanted to see what you can do, what you are capable of. Then when I finally did capture you, I would know what to expect.”

I just stared at him, “So, in other words, you are a stalker.”

He thought before he spoke, then said, “You could say that. You see, I know what you do. I know your age, your friends and your abilities. I know where you are from and where you live. I even know what you had for breakfast on Tuesday. And I also know about your sister.”

That got my attention. I hadn’t heard from Eithne ((pronounced Enya. Scottish! :D)) for a while now, and I had started to get worried. But I didn’t want him to know that so I just said, “Oh really?”

“You don’t believe me?” He walked over to the window that wasn’t more then a sheet of grime instead of glass. He continued, “That is not a wise decision, Misty. You should have more trust in people.”

“why do you want me here?” I asked.

“why?” He turned around to face me. “Because you know where the person I need is.” He started to walk forward, “Because you know the person that could change everything. Because you, Misty McPherson,” he paused and I had a bad feeling about this, “are the person I need”

I just sat there in shock. I didn’t know what to say. “w-what?”

“You know exactly what I mean,” He snapped. “You have been hiding her for years. Been denying that she exists. But now, it is time for her to show her true potential. Her true self. Her side of things. I’ll be back in a few hours.” He was about to walk out when I remembered,

“what have you done with Keith?”

He just smiled and not a friendly smile. More of a, I hoped you would ask this. “why whatever do you mean? I haven’t done anything to him. It is you who have done this to him.” With that he walked out.

(NEW!!)

I sat there staring at the door, thinking about what he said. I wasn’t quite sure what to make of it. “It is I who have done it to him?” I thought. “That just doesn’t make sense. Keith and I have been best friends since forever, how could I have done this to him? Or is it because I have been his friend? And then there’s her. How did he even know about her?” I sighed. Too many questions and too few answers. But there was no time to think about these things now. I had to get out of there, get Keith and go.

Right when I was thinking about how to get out, the second man came in with Keith, and Keith looked horrible. He had this huge cut on the side of his face that looked fresh. He looked exhausted and like he hadn’t eaten in days. The man pushed him in and said, “Until you decide to talk, this is your home. No food or drink either. He is not a patient man and won’t give you all the time in the world. When you get hungry enough, you will talk.” He walked out of the room and closed the door.
I thought about this. Keith was still tied, but he wasn’t in a chair anymore. Maybe, just maybe that vas exactly what we needed.
“Keith,” I whispered. “Keith, are you awake?” He didn’t answer, so I kept talking. “Keith, I don’t know if you can hear me. But I need you help. If you can hear me, move your fingers.” I looked down at his fingers… no movement. I looked down and sighed. But when I looked up his fingers were moving. I didn’t know whether that was just coincidence or he really heard, but I was betting on him hearing.
“Keith, in my boot is a knife. Can you get it?”
He looked up at me with his exhausted blue eyes and nodded. He scooted over to me and got on his knees. I realized that it might be harder then I thought. But he knew what he had to do. He got on his knees and backed up next to my boot. Then he tried to get his hands in. they wouldn’t fit though.
“Here, let me try to take it off,” I told him. I tried to bring my foot out, but it just wouldn’t go. Frustrated I closed my eyes, breathed in deep and tried to calm down. With my eyes still closed I tried to concentrate on getting the shoe off. Little by little it started to come off. And finally, with one last jerk, it did. I opened my eyes to see Keith smiling. I smiled back, “Now do you think you can get your hands in there?” He backed up a bit towards the boot and said, “No need to put my hands in there.” With that said, he turned the boot upside down and the knife came right out. He picked it up and crawled his way over to behind my chair. I tried to make my hands as far apart as possible to give him a clear way through. He brought the knife up and started to saw his way through the bonds. After about 20 minutes, they finally came loose enough for me to pull my hands out of. I looked at my wrists to see them bleeding. I rubbed then for a bit and then got up. I went over to where Keith was lying, grabbed the knife and started on his. Another 20 minutes went by and I managed to get his off. I sat him up and looked at the cut on his face. It vas in bad condition, I needed to put something on it. So I did the only thing I could do. I cut off a bit of his sleeve and wrapped it around his cut. At least then it would be protected a bit until we got something better.
“Keith, we need to be going. Do you think you can walk?” I asked.
He just looked at me and asked, “How do you think we are getting out of here? Have you seen it out there? There is security coming out of the woodworks! It would be nearly impossible. No, I think the best thing we can do is wait here and see what happens.”
I was shocked. The last thing I thought he wanted to do was stay. And I certainly wanted to get out of here. “I really don’t think we should stay. I mean look at you! You’re a mess! We need to get you fixed up, and we certainly can’t do that here.”
“And what do you propose we do? Just waltz right out there?” he snapped.
I had never heard him talk like that before. “I…” I just got up and walked back to the chair and sat down with my head in my hands, elbows on my knees.
“Misty, I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have snapped at you like that. You’re just doing your job,” he said sympathetically. “I know you will think of something.” He got up and walked wearily over to me. “Do you have anything on you we can use?”
I thought about it. I know my assistant, Sarah, had given me a phone, but they took that away. “Just my knife.”
“Well, that’s better then nothing.” He sat down. For a while there we were both quiet, deep in thought. After a bit:
“Keith?”
“Yes?”
“What’s it like out there? I mean. You’ve been out there, do we have any chance?”
“Well,” he paused. “I mean, we might have some chance. But it would be very unlikely.”
I looked around the room. The only things I saw was the chair I was sitting in, the small window and a duct. I know what you are thinking, ‘A duct! Y’all could climb through that!’ But sadly, in reality, ducts are very small, and almost, of not, impossible to climb through, so I’d already eliminated that possibility. But… the window. Could it?
I picked up the chair, moved it over to the window and stood on it. But I couldn’t quite reach. “Keith, can you see out the window?”
He grinned, “way ahead of you.” He grabbed the bottle of water they had left in there, walked over, got up on the chair and looked out the window.
“What’s out there?”
He didn’t say anything for a bit. “Well… you sure you want to know?”
“What do you think?”
He looked at me and smiled, “I think it’s our ticket out of here.” He moved over on the chair so I could get up too.
Keith said, “Here, let me help you.” And he picked me up.
“Keith! You shouldn’t be doing this!”
“It’s ok. Just,” he paused under the strain. “Just hurry.”
I grabbed the ledge and tried to hold myself up. I looked out and there was the forest I used to play in when I was a little girl. I saw the tree I used to climb all the time. I thought, “So this must be the abandoned shack that I was always to scared to go into. Who would have thought that someday I would be in here... scared half to death.”
Keith put me down. I said, “Keith! Do you think we could get out of the window?”
Keith looked at the window, and then back at me, “Maybe. we would have to move fast. You do remember this place right?”
“Of course I do. It’s the forest we used to play Robin Hood in.” I grinned at the memories.
He smiled, “Good. Do you think you remember which direction your old house is in?”
Hmm, that’s a different story all together. “I think I can remember if we start to go out there.”
“Ok good. It’s already dark so, let’s get out of here. Can I see your knife?”
I handed it to him and he started to work on prying the glass loose.
while he was doing that I walked over to the door and listened. I couldn’t hear anything, but that didn’t mean nothing was out there.
“Keith, how many did you say were out there?”
“well, you see,” He paused, sat down and looked at me. “I was pretty out of it, so it could have one or half a dozen and I wouldn’t have known the difference.”
“Oh, I see. So, do you think it’s safe at all to try to use the door?” I asked.
He just looked at me like I was crazy. “Do you really think I would be trying to get the glass out if I did?”
I nodded, “True.” Keith looked like he could use a rest. “Here, let me try for a while.”
“But you can’t even see out of the window.”
“I’ll make do. You need some rest.” I walked over and took the knife from him. “Now go rest a bit” He walked over to the wall, sat and tried to get some sleep while I tried at the window. It was no easy task. First of all I had to stand on my toes just to reach the ledge, so it wasn’t going to be easy. I looked around the room to see if there was anything. Then I saw the crate they had brought the food in. It was worth a shot. I jumped down, grabbed the crate and put it on the chair. Afterwards I climbed up and could now see out the window. I started working on prying the glass loose. Keith and done a pretty good job. After about 20 minutes of trying I was convinced I had blisters on my blisters. I was about to give up when the glass just fell out onto the ground. Thankfully it had just rained, so the grass vas soft and you couldn’t hear it fall… kinda. I looked around out there and didn’t see anyone. Not wanting to let this chance slip by I ran over to Keith and shook him.
“Keith! Get up. It’s open, let’s go.”
He looked up groggily, “It is? Oh, ok.” He looked exhausted, but we needed to get out of here as soon as possible. I helped him up and over to the window.
“Think you can get out of there?"
He thought about it, “Yeah, I… I think so.” He got up on the chair and crate, checked out the window and climbed out.
After he was out I climbed up on the chair and started to climb out when the door started to open. I froze for a few seconds before I realized I should be climbing out like mad.
The person said, “Hey you! Where do you think you are going?!”
I stopped and turned around, “Yes, can I help you?” I said with the nicest tone of voice I had. I heard Keith say, “what do you think you are doing?! Get out of there!”
The guard didn’t say anything and started to walk over. I didn’t move. He said, “why don’t you do this the easy way, and just cooperate.”
I shrugged, “Ok” He looked a bit confused but kept walking closer, all the while I was getting my knife ready. He was about to grab me when I cut his arm. He grabbed his arm and yelled in pain. I saw my chance, and took it. I jumped out the window and started running with Keith not far behind.
“Nice move. With him being cut like that it gives us a bit of a head start,” Keith said.
I nodded, “Yes, but not too much.” I could already hear them starting to get ready. “It’s not going to be easy. Can you run fast?”
Keith just grinned and ran ahead of me. I shook my head and laughed as I ran after him, but knew this moment wouldn’t last long.
I was following Keith for about 6 minutes when I heard them coming. I caught up to Keith and said, “Keith! We need to hide! They are coming!”
“Hmmm… We are almost to the house! Let’s go!”
The house?! Was he crazy!? That was the first place they would look! But, I just ahd to trust him, after all, he trusted me. It’s what friends do. We get to the house and run in. I turned to Keith, “Where now?”
“Upstairs! Hurry!”
I followed him upstairs into a closet. “A closet? Your best hiding place… is a closet?!”
Keith just looked at me with a look saying, “Watch and learn.” He turned to the door frame and opened a panel. I just stood there, unsure of what to say. He pushed a few buttons and the ground started to move. We started to go up. I just stared at Keith, trying to keep my balance. At some point he was holding my arm, keeping me steady. I was sure I had blacked out. I started to see we were coming up to a room above the house. When the “elevator” reached the floor we stepped off and the “elevator” started to go back down. I nearly passed out I was so tired.
Keith told me, “Here, come sit down, you look exhausted.” He led me to a couch and made me sit down.
“Don’t we need to keep moving?”
“No, we are safe up here, for now. We have some food and water. You can have the bed and I’ll sleep on the couch. Do you have your phone?”
“Yeah, of course. I alw..”
“Turn it off,” He interrupted. “they can track us with that.”
… I knew that. Of course I knew that. That’s why I turned it off… right after he said that. “There, it’s off.”
“Good. Now we need some rest. Get some sleep. We will talk about this more in the morning.”
